Sophie graduated in 2009 from the University of Reading with a BA (Hons) in Modern History and Politics. She then stayed at Reading for another year and gained a Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Land and Business Management.
After graduation, Sophie worked for a regional firm of accountants in their Rural department for three years. She then chose to move into consultancy in order to have a more practical involvement in agriculture.
Having grown up, and worked, on her parents’ organic dairy farm in Dorset, Sophie has a particular interest in grant schemes and financial help for farmers. She can put together budgets and cash flows for farmers, and help them to monitor these throughout the financial year.
As part of her role Sophie also helps manage a local dairy farm which the office is responsible for, as well as helping to run one of the buying groups the office manages.
Sophie provides ongoing help and advice for FCGSS accounts clients, as well completing monthly accounts and VAT returns for clients. She also completes Basic Payment Scheme applications, along with applications for all other available grants, including Countryside Stewardship.
