Those of you involved with business administration may well be in the throes of registering your business for MTD and negotiating various software changes. Such changes should enable your VAT returns to be submitted digitally to the Revenue.
Unfortunately, HMRC are still making life tricky for some, by failing to properly register people for MTD – despite them signing up correctly on their website. We are hearing of many clients and others who are having to sign up two or more times to obtain their registration for MTD. Bear this in mind when registering, in that you need to allow plenty of time for this to take place.
We have also heard of one firm of accountants being signed up for digital Income Tax submission (not VAT) by mistake! If you are struggling with MTD and accounting, please contact Charles at email@example.com or your local FCG office.
