The Andover office have just received confirmation of LEADER grant for one of their clients for the Cow Manager System of remote health sensing. The grant worth 40% of the capital costs will be used to help improve heat detection and health monitoring and should provide early warning of mastitis and a range of other conditions on this 200 cow organic dairy unit.
Countryside Productivity Small Grant scheme
DEFRA have recently announced that they plan to open another round of Countryside Productivity Small Grants in the spring. The last round in 2018 saw good uptake of the grants as the application was straightforward with a fixed grant payment per applied item.
DEFRA are advising farmers to start doing their research now as the window of application is likely to be short. Currently no information about the proposed scheme is available but if last year’s scheme is anything to go by there will be potentially a long list of eligible items. See last years’ handbook here
For more information on grants, contact William at firstname.lastname@example.org or your local FCG office.
