The HMRC is implementing Making Tax Digital for VAT from April 2019. This means that those keeping accounts records on paper or spreadsheets, who then manually enter their VAT return online will need to upgrade their bookkeeping system.
All VAT returns will be submitted digitally, direct from your electronic accounts records. As a result, those that are using paper-based cash books, home produced spreadsheets or non-compliant software will be required to change before the deadline and it would be prudent to plan this change in good time.

We are working with our HMRC approved software developer (Neilson James Technology) and are in the pilot testing phase of development. Following completion of the MTD for VAT software our developer will start work on MTD for Income Tax.
