Organic Farming Consultants

silage340x340Farm Consultancy Group (FCG) members provide business and technical advice to many of the country’s leading organic farmers and growers. All certified organic farmers and processors have to be registered with a Defra approved certification body such as The Soil Association or Organic Farmers and Growers.

FCG consultants have a wide range of experience of organic farming systems and provide expert technical advice on a range of topics including converting to organic production, rotation and crop planning, nutrient budgeting, soil management and the preparation and maintenance of livestock health and management plans.

FCG consultants work with organic farmers who operate widely varying systems, from stockless crop production enterprises to dairying systems and beef and sheep producers. We have helped a number of our clients to develop their organic systems into added value enterprises, including milk processing and meat retailing.

FCG consultants base their advice on their in depth understanding of the requirements of organic standards. Together with their knowledge of a wide range of conventional farming businesses, their unrivalled breadth of experience has real benefits for our clients, enabling them to make well informed decisions to strengthen their businesses.

FCG consultants are required to take part in our continuous professional development programme (CPD). Many of our members are also members of the British Institute of Agricultural Consultants (BIAC) and some are also accredited members of the Institute of Organic Training & Advice (IOTA).
